Rosendals Trädgård: Organic City Garden

Rosendals Trädgård is a public garden in Stockholm, Sweden; a natural heaven in the city.

The garden practices biodynamic agriculture, which is a method of organic farming originally developed by Rudolf Steiner and is 'a holistic approach to the agricultural process'.

Biodynamic agriculture is one of the first sustainable agriculture movements, treating soil fertility, plant growth and livestock care as ecologically interrelated tasks.

It also places a greater emphasis on the spiritual and mystical element of the agricultural process of growth, beauty and care.

It provides the public with a free opportunity to come close to nature and offers people ecological education in an increasingly urbanised world.

You can pick yourself a bouquet in their flower field,

and buy plants from the garden, local farm produce or their freshly baked goods.

Enjoy their cafe with home baked goods or have a lunch made up of ingredients grown in the garden. You can enjoy the local produce in their greenhouse or lounge under the apple trees.
